The Properties of Neoprene

One of DuPont’s claim to fame is its role as a major neoprene manufacturer of neoprene. Neoprene is used for a number of products like wetsuits, car fan belts and neoprene seat covers, car fan belts, and wetsuits.  With neoprene, things to consider include compounding properties, crystallization resistance and its polymer stability and storage  .

DuPont provides top-quality neoprene by minimizing the neoprene’s exposure to heat and immediately cooling it after drying.  The quality in DuPont’s process is such that it sometimes resists crystallization.  Different neoprene types (ie G, W and T) compound differently.  These are all important factors to consider when it comes to neoprene.
